Investigating the essential roles of Ubiquitin-like molecules and the Ubiquitin Proteasome System

Research Project 4.
Maintaining genome stability by SUMO and Ub.

Objectives

The identification on a proteome-wide scale of individual target proteins that are (co) regulated by SUMOs and Ub during DNA damage responses (DDR). Precise information on the roles of SUMOs in cellular responses to DNA damage will set the framework for functional follow-up experiments. Using this knowledge to identify new therapeutic targets that can be used to identify/develop small molecule inhibitors of processes involved in diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration.
